Description
The 143 candle smells like a sultry mix of mandarin, sandalwood, and jasmine—and it comes with a story:
The shorthand "143" for "I Love You" originated from Minot’s Ledge lighthouse off Cohasset, MA, in the early 1900s. The lighthouse’s flash pattern—one quick flash, then four, then three—was later equated with “I (1), love (4), you (3).” In 1915, assistant keeper Winfield Scott Thompson’s wife, Mary, told their children the flashes were their father’s way of saying “I Love You” from afar. This romantic tale gave Minot’s Ledge its nickname: Lover’s Lighthouse.
