Assistant Store Manager (Boston, full-time)

We’re looking for a special person (or maybe a unicorn of sorts) who is eager to turn retail upside down and reinvent the store experience. At For Now, the only traditional retail rules we play by are our store hours (nights and weekends), other than that, we view the store experience very differently. We believe that stores should be used to build relationships, enhance communities, and help brands grow. As the Assistant Retail Manager you will help us redefine the importance of a storefront and the power it has to fuel the growth of emerging brands. 

Your day-to-day: 

  • Talk knowledgeably about For Now as a brand and the wider retail landscape to any customer who walks through the door
  • Work on the sales floor with a customer-first mindset / provide excellent customer service from product recommendations to seamless checkouts.
  • Get to know our neighbors; your fellow shop keepers, dog walkers, baristas, and the couple that lives in the apartment above the store.
  • Quickly develop advanced knowledge of our brands and their products; from their history to their manufacturing practices to their pricing strategy and everything in between.
    • Will make a memorable and lasting impact through storytelling and authentic engagement
  • Will not shy away from hard work; you know how to be resourceful and are not afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Ideate (and execute) opportunities to engage customers with For Now and our rotation of brands - creating a convergence of community engagement, brand education, and sales generation.
  • Manage + diligently maintain inventory, both on and off the floor (obsessive attention to detail).

Operations Coordinator (Boston, full-time)

We are looking for a detail oriented and highly organized Operations Coordinator to assist with inventory management and online order fulfilment. The ideal Operations Coordinator is, has a keen attention to detail, is service oriented and possesses a “can do” attitude.

  • Track incoming inventory 
  • Ensure inventory is accurate upon receipt 
  • Receive +  tag inventory with accurate pricing, barcode labels 
  • Organize merchandise in the stockroom, stock shelves / sales floor
  • Ensure that accurate labeling, logical placement, neat arrangement, and cleanliness are maintained
  • Monitor inventory levels that sell during peak hours; process and replenish merchandise
  • Maintain ongoing and proactive communication regarding new arrivals, order overages, shortages, delivery delays, damages, markdowns, etc
  • Minimize shrinkage by performing routine audits and cycle counts
  • Accurately process Return-To-Vendors (RTVs), store to-store transfers, markdowns, go backs, etc. 
  • Pack + manage all ecomm orders
  • Ensure store supplies are always available
     

Who You Are

  • Analytical and natural problem solver, detail oriented
  • Independent yet collaborative 
  • Proficient in MS Excel and G-Suite + comfortable with Shopify, Slack, Asana 
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time
  • Adaptable to change and consistently able to deliver exceptional results with limited guidance
  • Proven time management skills and comfortable managing multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Available when we are open for business, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to juggle a seamless customer experience, between retail stores and ecommerce platforms

Boston Store Experience Rep, full-time and part-time

Retail is an evolving narrative, at For Now we’re helping to (re) write the script. We partner with emerging eCommerce brands to create in-store shopping experiences that bring brands and customers together, in real life, no screen attached. We’re looking for a spirited individual who can speak to our concept and perpetuate the narrative of our brands.

We’re looking for a unicorn, but will settle for a pegasus who:

  • Is able to talk knowledgeably about For Now as a brand and the wider retail landscape.
  • Will work on the sales floor with a customer-first mindset / provide excellent customer service from product recommendations to seamless checkouts.
  • Genuine passion for retail, brands and people is key – it’s at the heart of everything we do.
  • Can quickly develop advanced knowledge of our brands and their products; from their history to their manufacturing practices to their pricing strategy and everything in between.
  • Will ideate (and execute) opportunities to engage customers with For Now and our rotation of brands - creating a convergence of community engagement, brand education, and sales generation.
  • Be accountable for store experience during designated hours; diligently maintain inventory, both on and off the floor (obsessive attention to detail)
    • Accurately process in-store transactions 
    • Process incoming / outgoing inventory
    • Ensure visual merchandising is fresh and appealing
  • Gather and properly record customer feedback and insights for weekly brand reports / make innovative and impactful suggestions that help brands grow.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
