Store + Incubation Manager, Nantucket

*This is a seasonal position (May - September) on Nantucket and housing can be provided as part of compensation package if needed!

We’re looking for a special person (or maybe a unicorn of sorts) who is eager to turn retail upside down and reinvent the store experience. At For Now, the only traditional retail rules we play by are our store hours (nights and weekends), other than that, we view the store experience very differently. We believe that stores should be used to build relationships, enhance communities, and help brands grow....all in the idyllic setting of Nantucket. 

Your day-to-day: 

  • Understand and effectively communicate the For Now values and each brand’s philosophy to anyone who walks through the door
  • Foster a sense of community that exceeds a positive customer experience 
  • Manage all customer experience related requests (in-store + online) 
  • Report on weekly and monthly metrics derived from the store, providing qualitative commentary and feedback on ways to improve
  • Our Brands: Develop advanced knowledge of our brands and their products; from their history to their manufacturing practices to their pricing strategy and everything in between.
    • Talk knowledgeably to customers about For Now as a brand and the wider retail landscape.
    • Record brand feedback from customers on a daily basis; take account of what brands need more feedback and inquire to customers accordingly
    • Manage brand performance + ideate and execute opportunities (events and beyond) to bring in + engage customers with our brands
  • Ideate and manage in-store events, with a focus on marrying our brands with our community
  • Merchandising: Ensure the store + windows creatively represent our brands and their stories via visually appealing merchandising efforts  - and change/move/remerchandise based on sales data
  • Hire, train, and retain a world-class team of friendly, energetic and knowledgeable in-store staff
    • Manage schedule and performance of all in-store staff
  • Manage back of house 

Who You Are

  • Have collected 2+ years of retail operations and have taken on managerial duties

Brand + Partnerships Manager

Location: Boston / hybrid

Our mission is to help brands grow, and as the Brand + Partnerships Manager, your role will be directly tied to seeing that mission come to life every day. We’re looking for an eager self-starter who’s excited about emerging brands and getting to work with them closely. You will get to know brands intimately, and the people behind them, and make sure they succeed at For Now.

Your day-to-day: 

  • Your job will mostly consist of:
    • Prospecting: always on the lookout for the next best brands
    • Sales: getting brands on board
    • Client service: managing brand success
  • Reaching out to potential brands, and convey the For Now value and partnership to get them on board
  • Bring brands through our onboarding process, so they are set-up for success
    • Develop advanced knowledge of our brands and their products; from their history to their manufacturing practices to their pricing strategy and everything in between.
  • Maintain relationships and close contact with each brand 
    • Provide feedback reports throughout each quarter
    • Answer questions on performance and sell-through
  • Closely monitor sales for each brand
  • Come up with creative ways to deepen our relationships with brands such as custom collaborations, giveaways, exclusives, etc
  • Work closely with marketing to make sure each brand is getting their limelight
  • Work with store management to make sure incoming and outgoing inventory is correct and accounted for
  • Work floor shifts (a few every month) to stay connected with our brands, products and customers

Boston Store Experience Rep, full-time and part-time

Retail is an evolving narrative, at For Now we’re helping to (re) write the script. We partner with emerging eCommerce brands to create in-store shopping experiences that bring brands and customers together, in real life, no screen attached. We’re looking for a spirited individual who can speak to our concept and perpetuate the narrative of our brands.

We’re looking for a unicorn, but will settle for a pegasus who:

  • Is able to talk knowledgeably about For Now as a brand and the wider retail landscape.
  • Will work on the sales floor with a customer-first mindset / provide excellent customer service from product recommendations to seamless checkouts.
  • Genuine passion for retail, brands and people is key – it’s at the heart of everything we do.
  • Can quickly develop advanced knowledge of our brands and their products; from their history to their manufacturing practices to their pricing strategy and everything in between.
  • Will ideate (and execute) opportunities to engage customers with For Now and our rotation of brands - creating a convergence of community engagement, brand education, and sales generation.
  • Be accountable for store experience during designated hours; diligently maintain inventory, both on and off the floor (obsessive attention to detail)
    • Accurately process in-store transactions 
    • Process incoming / outgoing inventory
    • Ensure visual merchandising is fresh and appealing
  • Gather and properly record customer feedback and insights for weekly brand reports / make innovative and impactful suggestions that help brands grow.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
